BOOM BOOM BARNS!

BOOM BOOM BARNS is an all-ages, leave no trace sonic farm stroll to be held

on Saturday, Nov 14 from 4-8pm at Warren Wilson College’s farm and garden.

In collaboration with WWC Art & Craft Department, BOOM BOOM BARNS will activate 5 acres of beautiful and historic barnscape as stages, projection surfaces and installation spaces. At sunset (5:28pm) we will illuminate them with a sunset surprise multimedia light show for the people.

Together, we will look, listen, move, taste, and feel, as we participate in a temporal study of the landscape.

BOOM BOOM BARNS draws inspiration from: tractor square dances, the dawn chorus, corn, Cornbread, tree dialects, spider webs, circular drift, geologic time, straw bales, boom boxes, chill hours, sweet potatoes, cows, mycelial music, vernacular architecture, plant growth, animal health, seasonal shifts, agri-CULTURAL practices, invisible circuses, turf mazes, the climate of sight, time streams, honeybee communication, spectral geographies, resonant frequencies, vibrational tendencies, bird’s eye views, bat ecosystems and our ever changing landscape.

We are working on a site map/inventory of spaces for performances and installations

The weather is always our collaborator.
